Construction Bookkeeper

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper to manage all financial transactions and records for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction accounting, job cost tracking, and project-based financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including vendor invoices, payments, receipts, and payroll
• Track project expenses, budgets, and job cost codes to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Prepare progress billings, lien waivers, and subcontractor payments
• Maintain general ledger and reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor accounts
• Process payroll, including certified payroll when required
• Assist with month-end and year-end closings, audits, and tax preparation
• Generate project profitability and cash flow reports for management review
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and state/federal regulations

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
• 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry
• Proficiency with accounting software’s.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including AIA billing and job costing
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management tools

Work Environment

• Full-time position
• Reports to: Controller
• Collaborative team environment with field and office staff
