Job Description

The purpose of this position is to detail Electrical systems in a 3-D environment using various software programs. Must have knowledge of various trades in the construction environment and how they interrelate. Knowledge of electrical systems is key in this position.

Typical Duties

• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and Revit drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop designs for commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
• Ensure all drawings adhere to applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Update and maintain design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support both electrical and cross-disciplinary (mechanical) design when needed.
• Provide accurate drawings in a timely manner.
• Assist, when necessary, with field measuring & field checking of drawings.
• Maintain & follow company standards to ensure continuity from one job to the next.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Revit software is required
• Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
• Understanding of NEC and other applicable electrical standards
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• A four-year electrical engineering degree and experience in electrical design/drafting OR minimum of 5 years experience in electrical drafting or design

Preferred But Not Required

• HVAC, piping, and plumbing drafting experience
• Basic understanding of other systems installed in commercial buildings
