Job Description

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a motivated Chemical Process Engineer to join our team! As a Chemical Process Engineer , you will be a vital part of our team, developing and managing our Chemical processes within a fast paced and dynamic organization. You play a crucial role in maintaining quality, safety, and productivity through a hands-on approach. Our three shifts of skilled professionals in our 125,000 square foot facility have made us the vendor of choice for metal finishing for Northeastern United States. Whether it is electroplating, electroless plating, wet paint, or powder coat, we finish it right the first time!

Position Overview
  • Write and develop new process procedures and documentation.
  • Calibrate and maintain control process systems.
  • Participate in process optimization.
  • Analyzes operating procedures, equipment and machinery functions to improve raw material efficiency and improve product quality.
  • Troubleshoot problems with chemical/plating processes
  • Determine effective use of unit operations exercising judgment to compromise between process requirements, economic evaluation, operator effectiveness, and physical and health hazards.
  • Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance or to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Manage technical projects for Chemical Processes to completion.
  • Direct activities of operators on equipment including pumps, valves, tanks, pipelines, etc. to effect required chemical or physical change.
  • Perform testing on plating tanks, as well as assist with the cleaning and prepping of plating tanks.
  • Perform testing and measurements on process tanks and interpret results to determine best course of action.
  • Manages and controls the movement, storage, and packaging of liquids and gases.
  • Run analytical equipment such as AAS, ICP-OES and UV-Spectrophotometry to determine metal content of various solutions.
  • Perform titrations to record concentrations of acids, alkaline solutions and chromium containing solutions.
  • Manage resources and waste in accordance with local and state laws.
  • Provide technical assistance to resolve environmental or safety issues.
  • Promote a safe work environment - lead by example. Ensure staff is following established safety standards.


Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience working as a chemical engineer or technician with a focus on testing preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or related field preferred.
    • Knowledge of chemical unit operations/ equipment - reactors, condensers, adsorption, compressors, pumps, piping, heat exchangers, etc. required
  • Skills:
    • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and/or ideas professionally across all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to create and maintain positive and professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to problem-solve issues to their root cause and work to implement corrective action.
    • Excellent organization skills.
    • Ability to break down complex topics.
    • Cleanliness - keeping a clean working environment.


Total Compensation Package

  • Wage
    • $60,000-$75,000 Compensation depends on the selected candidate's experience.
