What Makes This Position Special? Under the supervision of the Director, provides reliable and courteous transportation of residents to outings, medical appointments, and personal appointments.
What You’ll Do:
Operates a passenger vehicle safely and efficiently, monitoring traffic, road conditions and weather to ensure timely arrivals to appointments and outings, and promptly reports delays.
Assists residents in boarding and exiting the vehicle, which may include loading and unloading packages, personal assistive devices, and operation and use of ramps and lifts as needed.
Inspects interior and exterior of vehicle at beginning and end of each shift to ensure proper functioning, and reports issues to the supervisor immediately.
Ensures the inside and outside of assigned vehicle is properly cleaned and fueled on an on-going basis.
Reads and interprets maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route to the destination. Operates and utilizes GPS system, if provided, as necessary.
The Skills You’ll Need: California Class B Drivers License (mandatory) with passenger endorsement in good standing and 2 years of similar experience. Driving record and experience must meet the requirements to maintain coverage under the company auto insurance policy. Experience working with the public required, working with seniors preferred. Must be able to work independently within the schedule assigned. Must have knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
