Description 130,000 - 180,000 benefits include: + medical + dental + vision + paid time off Our client is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and provide strategic leadership within their organization in the Mount Vernon, NY area. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of all financial processes for multiple store locations. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with hands-on expertise in accounting and financial management. Responsibilities: - Supervise key accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. - Manage the creation, implementation, and tracking of annual budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial reports for all store locations. - Ensure financial statements and management reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational goals. - Oversee cash flow management, perform detailed analyses, and maintain strong banking and treasury relationships. - Develop and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to protect company assets and ensure compliance with regulations. - Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of any findings. - Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to drive performance improvements and identify opportunities. - Handle tax filings and compliance requirements while collaborating with external accountants and regulatory bodies. - Lead, train, and inspire the finance and accounting team to achieve excellence and foster continuous growth. Requirements - Proven experience in retail finance or accounting operations. - Strong expertise in general accounting practices, including payroll and ledger management. - Demonstrated ability to oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes. - Experience with internal controls and regulatory compliance. - Proficiency in cash flow analysis and treasury management. - Skilled in managing audits and addressing recommendations effectively. - Solid leadership and team development abilities. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
