Position Summary The Data Engineer will design, development, and support of data engineering, data modeling, and data integrations for the company. The incumbent shall serve as a developer, manage customer relationships, and ensure the highest level of business satisfaction involving implementation, maintenance, continuous and reliable operation of CVR's data solutions. This position will report to the Manager – Internal Applications.
Education Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline required; or demonstrated technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements.
Experience Requirements - 5+ years IT or technology experience including data analysis, data engineering, and/or data integration experience.
- 3+ years of experience writing queries in SQL/NoSQL with specific experience in MS SQL Server, Oracle, and/or Postgres.
- Expertise on integration technologies such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, or SSIS; Databricks experience is preferred but similar ecosystem experience is acceptable.
- Experience in Python or other high-level scripting language.
- Proficiency in designing and developing complex data models for integrations, analytics, and reporting for use in semantic models and reports in Microsoft Power BI or other reporting tools a plus.
- Experience extracting data from source systems utilizing web services (SOAP, REST and Web APIs), XML, CSV/Excel exports, and more.
- Familiarity with business processes, data flow, and their relation to business operations. Candidate will be expected to work with the Business Relationship Management team and business users on gathering business requirements, testing data solutions, and supporting existing data integrations, analytics, and reporting.
- Experience in the Oil and Gas domain is helpful.
- Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex data integrations and reporting.
- Maintain a high level of quality while working under pressure and deadlines.
- Fluent in English, oral and written.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adjust work schedule to meet business needs and objectives.
- Travel, as necessary.
Major Accountabilities - Implement and maintain various data and integration technologies to support the organization's business needs.
- Gather requirements, design, and develop new data and integrations or existing code enhancements.
- Help define and determine data and integration direction for the enterprise.
- Work within the IT department to gather requirements and understanding of technical roadmap & strategy.
- Administer security for the integration applications within the guidelines of CVR IT Security strategy.
- Perform and be involved with all testing cycles for projects and enhancements.
- Support, research, and fix IT issues related to data integrations, analytics, and reporting.
- Collaborates with our partner organizations and vendors.
- As part of IT Team, address and resolve assigned ServiceNow/help desk tickets.
- Available to assist with monthly maintenance outages as needed.
- Available to assist on Disaster Recovery Projects.
- Assist on team initiatives -- ex. How-Tos; application and data process flow; etc.
- Manage business relationship manager relations and ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Create and maintain documentation and process flows on integration solutions in the enterprise.

- Building stable integration solutions that are completely automated with excellent error handling and alerts.
- Improved business efficiencies and end users' interactions with IT group.
- Assigned projects completed within budget and schedule.
- IT staff achieving the goal of superior quality levels of service for the business and with end users.
- Establish and maintain the documentation of the overall department goals at a consistently satisfactory level of ticket completion.
- Maintain the Data Application Portfolio with clear definition of applications in Production, Staging, Test and Development, and current versions.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures within department.
