The hourly range for this position is $18.50 to $25.00, however starting wage will depend on qualifications, skill, and experience

Job Summary:

The Designer at RCI is responsible for designing and developing structural metal ropes courses. This role demands strong technical skills, experience in structural design, and the ability to create functional, safe, and visually engaging course layouts. The ideal candidate will have a background in architectural design software, an understanding of engineering principles, and the ability to collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design custom structural metal ropes courses that align with client specifications and safety standards.
  • Develop 3D models, renderings, and detailed presentations using SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe CC, and other relevant design tools.
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with sales and project managers to translate client needs into effective design solutions.
  • Assist in the development of master design plans for facilities and attractions.
  • Present design concepts to clients and internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and best practices to enhance design processes.
  • Provide revisions and updates to existing course designs based on feedback and project requirements.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to safety guidelines and company standards.

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • 2+ yrs of experience in architectural design, structural design, or related field.
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe CC, and other 3D modeling software. 
  • Proficiency in Revit preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural plan sets and construction documents
  • Experience in Theme Parks is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Knowledge of all MS Office applications
  • Ability to perform all tasks with confidence, precision and strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Creativity with an emphasis on fostering teamwork and building relationships
  • Effective time management
  • Have a basic understanding of structural engineering principles, particularly in steel construction.
