ATSS has a client in Bayou La Batre, AL looking for First Class Pipe Welders.
Pay: $28.32
Work/ shift is 4 x 10's. Monday - Thursday 5:00am CST to 3:30pm CST. No overtime is anticipated.
Must be able to pass a Drug Screen, Physical and Background Check once an offer is made.

Key Responsibilities
• Must be able to weld copper-nickel alloys.
• Must be able to pass a 6G SMAW welding test with 90 days of employment.
• Must be able to TIG weld in all positions.
• Must be able to work in tight areas and perform field welding as required.
• Demonstrate the ability to notice improper fit up of pipe joints prior to welding.
• Demonstrate the ability to mirror weld.
• Recognize different pipe alloys and rods required.
• Know and understand proper root openings required on butt weld systems and set back requirements for socket weld systems.
• Understand and utilize purging requirements.
• Understand weld sizes and types (Convex & Concave)
Requirements/Qualifications
• 3 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry pipe welding.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Must be able to set up own equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders and enter confined spaces to complete tasks.
Welding test for pipe welders is:
o 6G Position
o Copper Nickel to Copper Nickel is GTAW
o Carbon Steel is GTAW root and SMAW fill and cap
o Stainless will be SMAW, GTAW, or FCAW
o Copper Nickel to Carbon is GTAW
