IMPORT / EXPORT COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Based onsite at Rocket Lab's Headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Import / Export Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company's international trade operations, ensuring compliance with global trade regulations, and developing strategies to minimize tariff costs. You will support the VP of Global Supply Chain and the Global Supply Chain organization, with a focus on enhancing our global tariff strategy and ensuring seamless import/export operations, while maintaining strict adherence to ITAR and EAR regulations.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

• Collaborate with the VP of Global Supply Chain to create and execute a global tariff strategy that minimizes costs and maximizes efficiency.
• Manage and oversee import/export operations, including documentation, customs clearance, and logistics coordination.
• Monitor and analyze global trade trends and regulatory changes to proactively adjust company strategies.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, procurement, and legal, to ensure alignment and compliance in all trade activities.
• Advise the company on trade compliance aspects and risks of proposed business decisions.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of experience in international trade, logistics, or a related field, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience (12+ years or total work experience).
• Strong knowledge of global trade regulations, customs procedures, and tariff classifications.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing trade compliance programs. Expertise with specific in ITAR and EAR regulations a plus.

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

• Master’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Professional certification in trade compliance (e.g., CUSECO, CCS, or similar).
• Experience with trade management software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of aerospace industry trade regulations and requirements.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be physically able to commute to buildings.
• Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and moderate levels of noise.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base Pay Range (CA Only)

$100,000—$148,000 USD
