Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Remote Bookkeeper to manage daily financial tasks, ensure accurate record-keeping, and maintain overall financial health. This role is perfect for someone who is self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Record day-to-day financial transactions in accounting software
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger, bank, and credit card accounts
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Prepare financial documents for tax filings and audits
• Monitor cash flow and alert management to potential issues
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Communicate with vendors, clients, and team members regarding financial matters
• Maintain accurate and organized digital financial records

Requirements

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
• Reliable internet connection and home office setup

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience with payroll and tax preparation
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and local tax regulations
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting tools
• Certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper or QuickBooks ProAdvisor) is a plus
