Job Description

PURPOSE: The Maintenance Supervisor works with and supervises the activities of the Maintenance team. This position assigns duties; evaluates and inspects work performance; and plans and coordinates schedules to complete maintenance tasks and special projects as assigned by the Facilities Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Care for, shepherd, and lead the Maintenance team.
  • Work alongside the Maintenance team and cover or assign coverage for shifts in the event of absences or time off requests.
  • Coordinate the work and activities of the Maintenance team.
  • Supervise the training and performance of Maintenance team.
  • Implement personnel decisions including interviews of new hire candidates; selection of new hires; issue disciplinary actions; and terminate employees as needed to ensure proper staffing.
  • Monitor time cards and other routine records for the Maintenance team and approve in Paylocity.
  • Assist with the scheduling and planning of events and ministries on and off campus as pertains to Maintenance.
  • Coordinates or inspects all repairs of electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems in all department and campus locations.
  • Coordinates, inspects, operates, and maintains the heating, cooling and ventilation systems (including boiler system) in all department and campus locations.
  • Coordinate general repairs such as painting, patching walls, security hardware, hanging shelves and landscaping.
  • Negotiate pricing and schedules with vendors and suppliers.
  • Inspect, monitor, and maintain equipment.
  • Order, monitor, and maintain stock of Maintenance supplies.
  • Ensure safety and health codes are followed, providing training and information where needed.
  • Monitor and communicate via email, radio, phone, and texts to meet Maintenance needs as they arise on campus.
  • Come alongside other departments to assist with events and ministries as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Calvary Albuquerque.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Complete daily tasks while working with or independently of the Maintenance team
  • Create and plan according to the day’s needs and events developing work lists for the Maintenance team
  • Provide guidance and direction to the Maintenance team, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance as well as proper training for equipment use and chemical dilutions and uses
  • Daily computer work includes: managing work order tickets, checking and responding to email; monitoring and giving feedback on events and ministries via Service-U; creating and adjusting daily work schedules according to campus needs and schedules; fielding phone calls; and monitoring and adjusting timesheets of Maintenance team
  • Interact, negotiate, and communicate with various vendors and contractors as needed
  • Create and submit Requisitions and Purchase orders

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two – five year previous experience
  • Basic understanding of the operation and maintenance of equipment; dilution and applications of cleaning chemicals; and use of safety data sheets
  • Basic skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and event software (ServiceU)
  • Excellent skills operating in a work order system
  • Experience working in proactive work environment
  • Able to work effectively with the team and/or independently
  • Ability to complete assigned responsibilities and duties under direction from supervisor as well as to be self-motivated and take individual initiative
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills with ability to foster a strong, team working environment
  • Effective time management skills
  • Able to teach others and implement discipline
