Maintenance Supervisor – Ethanol Refinery | Southeast Nebraska

 

Ready to lead from the front lines in a fast-paced, high-performance environment ? We're looking for a hands-on, driven Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations at our cutting-edge ethanol refinery in southeast Nebraska —just 30 minutes from Metro City!

 

In this critical leadership role , you'll coach and develop a team of Maintenance and E&I Technicians, drive equipment reliability, and champion proactive maintenance strategies that keep the plant running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll be an essential part of our mission to push performance and reliability to the next level.

 

What You'll Do:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, support, and motivate Maintenance and E&I Technicians.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ensure accountability across the team.
  • Handle staffing needs including timecards, PTO, hiring, onboarding, and evaluations.

Troubleshooting & Reliability

  • Lead the charge on Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and permanent problem resolution.
  • Collaborate on FMEA and Equipment Maintenance Plans (EMP) to boost uptime and system health.
  • Tackle complex equipment issues and drive solutions that stick.

Proactive Maintenance Champion

  • Lead planning and scheduling for preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Create a culture of proactive, reliability-centered maintenance.
  • Keep a close eye on KPIs and drive improvements against best-in-class benchmarks.

Systems & Strategy

  • Use CMMS to track work orders, analyze data, and manage maintenance inventory.
  • Support procurement processes to ensure the right parts are always on hand.
  • Lead and contribute to plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance & Safety First

  • Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, EPA, and all environmental/safety regulations.
  • Promote a proactive, safety-first mindset at every level of the team.
  • Oversee Management of Change (MOC) efforts and maintain documentation compliance.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Keep leadership informed on team performance, progress, and maintenance priorities.
  • Foster a collaborative environment across departments to maximize plant uptime.

What You Bring:

  • Education : Associate’s degree in a STEM field (Engineering preferred) or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Experience :
    • 7+ years in industrial maintenance (ethanol or continuous process manufacturing is a major plus).
    • 5+ years in a supervisory or technical leadership role.
    • Strong knowledge of plant equipment: evaporators, centrifuges, boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, compressors, and instrumentation.
  • Skills :
    • Expert troubleshooting, reliability, and planning skills.
    • Proficient in CMMS and Microsoft Office tools.
    • Strong communicator and organized leader.
    • Solid understanding of OSHA and EPA standards.
