Job Title: Family Medicine Medical Assistant

Location: Clinton Township MI 48035

Pay: $17.00- $19.00 per hour

Scheduled Pay: Bi-Weekly

Hours: 40 hours - Monday 8-8, Tuesday 8-7:30, Weds 8-5:30, Thurs 7-5, and Fri 7-4. Rotating shifts assigned to the physician's schedule.

Family Medicine Medical Assistant Duties

Taking medical histories
Explaining treatment procedures to patients
Preparing patients for examinations
Assisting the physician during examinations
Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
Performing basic laboratory tests
Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider
Transmitting prescription refills as directed
Taking electrocardiograms
Wound care and changing dressings
Using computer electronic medical records
Answering telephones
Welcoming patients
Updating and filing patient medical records
Scheduling appointments
Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services

Family Medicine Medical Assistant Requirements

High School Diploma
Graduated from a Medical Assistant Program and completed an externship as a medical assistant
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
Minimum 1 year working as a Medical Assistant required
