Job Description

This role is for an Operating Room Nurse responsible for providing skilled nursing care within the operating room setting. The nurse will collaborate with the surgical team, ensuring patient safety and providing care before, during, and after surgical procedures. This requires a minimum of two years of experience and strong clinical skills.

Responsibilities:

- Providing pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care to surgical patients.
- Assisting surgeons and other members of the surgical team during procedures.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and overall condition.
- Administering medications as prescribed.
- Preparing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical environment.
- Documenting patient care accurately and thoroughly.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participating in patient and family education.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a hospital setting (home health or hospice experience may be considered).
- Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience in an operating room setting.
- Advanced certifications (e.g., CNOR).
