Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care in the Operating Room, specializing in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopaedic surgery.
- Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members.
- Preparing and maintaining the surgical environment according to established protocols.
- Performing pre-operative and post-operative nursing duties.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and condition throughout the surgical procedure.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Documenting patient care accurately and completely in Epic.
- Participating in on-call rotation, which may include nights, evenings, and weekends.
- Floating between similar units within the Operating Room as needed.
- Assisting in emergency situations.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- Minimum of two years of experience in Operating Room nursing with a focus on trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopaedic surgery.
- BLS certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Experience with Epic charting system.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Special Considerations:
- On-call requirement: Shared equally among staff every six weeks, potentially involving 6-8 shifts (including nights, evenings, and weekends).
- Variable start times: 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, and occasionally 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts.
- Floating between similar OR units is required.
- Block scheduling may be considered at the manager's discretion.
Scheduling:
