Part Time Special Needs Nanny / Educator for 12-Year-Old Boy in Lexington, MA

A warm, thoughtful family is seeking a calm, confident, and experienced Special Needs Nanny/Educator to support their 12-year-old son. The son is blind and nonspeaking, and he communicates using a speaking computer. He is highly capable and bright, and he thrives with structured, hands-on, individualized support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support during online/home schooling sessions
• Assist with physical guidance as needed (walking alongside him, helping navigate spaces)
• Support in completing assignments and engaging with his educational materials
• Maintain and manage his daily schedule, including education, therapy, and exercise
• Work collaboratively with his therapeutic and educational support team
• Help him stay focused and regulated in a calm and responsive way

• Foster a love of learning and ensure his days are structured and productive

• Experience working with unique children and strong observational skills to actively support development,

   

Ideal Candidate

• Confident and capable working with nonverbal and visually impaired children
• Highly organized, calm under pressure, and able to manage shifting needs
• A natural collaborator—comfortable working with a team of therapists and educators
• Long-term commitment and desire to become a steady presence in the child’s life
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and able to commute to Lexington daily
• Provide 3-5 professional references
