*Description* Per Diem Surgical Physician Assistant - Vassar Brothers Medical Center (75 minutes north of New York City) The Surgical PA Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center isseekingto add a board-certified per diem-time Physician Assistant to join its team.We are a hospital-based group that offers a supportive and team-based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties.Responsibilities include OR coverage as well as management of admissions, consults, floor rounds, post-opmanagementand discharge of patients.This position isa great opportunityfor growth and exposure to high acuity patients, complexproceduresand a high volume of DaVinci Robotic Surgery cases.  Vassar Brothers Medical Center Service Responsibilities: * OR First Assisting- case coverage includes but is not limited to the specialties of General Surgery, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary, GYN/GynOnc, Labor and Delivery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Head and Neck, Bariatric Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, DaVinci Robotic Surgery  * Rounding- Surgical PA's round on general surgery and surgical oncology patients daily. This is done as a team-based approach with attendings, surgical residents, medicalstudentsand PAstudents * Admissions/ Consults- Surgical PA Servicesare responsible foradmissions and consults for patients in the emergency department and inpatient floors * Floor Procedures- SurgicalPA'sare responsible forfloor procedures including NG tube and difficult foley insertion, wound vac changes, bedside I&D Qualifications * The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and be NCCPA certified as well aspossessstrong surgical and patient management experience. * Candidates with at least one to three years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates preferred, but new graduates will be considered as will new nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience.  Vassar Brothers Medical Center is a 365-bed facility that has served New York's Mid-Hudson Valley since 1887.
