Location: Chicago, Illinois Hospital: Rush University Medical Center Department: Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Work Type: Full Time Clinical Neuropsychologist – Clinical Faculty Rush University Medical Center Chicago, IL Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Clinical Neuropsychologist . The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is recruiting for a tenure-track full-time faculty position in the Section of Neuropsychology. Clinical responsibilities will include provision of inpatient and outpatient neuropsychological services to a very diverse adult patient population with neurological, medical, and/or psychiatric conditions, including individuals with seizures, neurodegenerative conditions, vascular diseases, auto-immune disorders (e.g., multiple sclerosis, lupus, etc.), normal pressure hydrocephalus, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, cancers, etc. Teaching responsibilities include supervision of trainees through the neuropsychology track of the APA-accredited internship program and APPCN post-doctoral fellowship program in neuropsychological assessment and intervention in addition to lectures for neuropsychology trainees and residents and fellows in other disciplines. Research and scholarly activities will be expected. For the interested candidate, opportunities to teach in the medical school may also be available. This position offers rank and salary commensurate with experience. Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree from an APA- or CPA-accredited psychology program with specialized training in neuropsychology as well as internship (APA-accredited) and a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship training in adult clinical neuropsychology. Eligible candidates must be license-eligible in the State of Illinois and ABPP Board certified or eligible in Clinical Neuropsychology. Rush Medical College received its charter in 1837, shortly before the City of Chicago received its own charter. Formal training of neuropsychologists at Rush began in the 1960s. Over 40 neuropsychologists who have trained or worked at Rush have received their diplomate in clinical neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology. The internship in clinical psychology at Rush has been continuously accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1967. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets are available. Additional compensation may include sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances.
