Piping Designer

Objective

Seeking a skilled professional to create complex 3D piping systems in AutoCAD Plant 3D through innovative design approaches and industry-standard methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop design parameters and deliverables for assigned projects while conducting initial feasibility studies
• Create sophisticated piping layouts for project segments and manage complete smaller-scale initiatives
• Mentor junior design staff by offering technical expertise and guidance on challenging design scenarios
• Participate in continuing education programs focused on advanced CAD software applications
• Engage in on-site activities including data collection, stakeholder meetings, construction issue resolution, and system startup support
• Execute design calculations for component and system sizing under senior-level oversight
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders
• Present design concepts and project updates to management teams, clients, contractors, and cross-functional groups
• Coordinate and direct the activities of drafting personnel and junior designers on specific contracts

Requirements

• Associate degree in related technical field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
• 10-13 years of comprehensive drafting and design experience
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on 3D modeling expertise
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D and AutoCAD 2D platforms
• Strong foundation in 3D CAD principles and industry best practices
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Internet research capabilities for technical information gathering
• Ability to analyze and interpret technical specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and professional documentation
• Interpretation of multi-format instructions including verbal, written, graphical, and scheduled directives
