Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior QA Test Engineer with deep expertise in mobile application testing and a strong understanding of blockchain technology and cold storage wallets. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the security, functionality, and reliability of our mobile cold storage wallet application on both iOS and Android platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and security engineers, to deliver a best-in-class user experience for managing digital assets securely.

The Senior QA Test Engineer will be expected to work on-site five days a week in our Somerset, NJ office.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning & Strategy
    • Design and implement comprehensive test strategies for iOS and Android mobile apps focused on blockchain and wallet functionality.
    • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for smart contracts (e.g., Solidity, Rust)
    • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test plans for mobile apps and backend systems.
    • Validate blockchain-related features such as wallet integration, transaction signing, smart contract interactions, and cryptographic operations.
    • Work closely with developers and product teams during the full software development lifecycle).
    • Identify and prioritize test cases based on risk and user impact, with a strong emphasis on security and transaction integrity.
  • Manual & Automated Testing
    • Execute end-to-end, regression, smoke, and exploratory tests.
    • Design and maintain automation scripts using tools like Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or Detox.
    • Automate high-risk and high-use scenarios such as wallet recovery, transaction signing, and cold storage mechanisms.
  • Blockchain-specific QA
    • Test wallet functionalities including key generation, signing transactions, address validation, backup and restore processes.
    • Verify integration with various blockchain networks (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).
    • Perform edge-case and security testing (e.g., air-gapped signing, tamper detection, etc.)
  • Bug Reporting & Issue Triage
    • Log detailed and reproducible bugs using tools like Jira
    • Collaborate with development and product teams to triage and resolve issues quickly.
  • Continuous Integration & Delivery
    • Work within CI/CD pipelines to ensure robust automated testing is part of the release cycle.
    • Contribute to release sign-offs and production verification testing.
  • Compliance & Security
    • Ensure testing procedures align with industry security standards and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001).
    • Collaborate with security teams for penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
  • Mentorship & Process Improvement
    • Mentor junior QA engineers and review their test plans and cases.
    • Identify and implement process improvements in test execution and coverage.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years (or more) of experience in QA for mobile applications (iOS and Android).
  • Strong knowledge of blockchain, cryptography, and cold storage wallets.
  • Experience with QA automation frameworks: Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, etc.
  • Proficiency in test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
  • Hands-on experience testing secure environments, air-gapped devices, or hardware wallets is a big plus.
  • Understanding of mobile OS security, biometric authentication, and app sandboxing.
  • Experience with hardware integration testing (e.g., secure elements, NFC, QR code scanners).
  • Knowledge of cryptographic standards such as BIP32, BIP39, BIP44.
  • Background in fintech, DeFi, or crypto exchanges.
  • Familiarity with tools for mocking blockchain interactions in test environments.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive mindset and ownership of quality processes.
  • Team player with a collaborative and adaptive approach
