Job Description

Summary:
Looking for 2 Special Education Teachers, one for Elementary school supporting a self-contained K–3 autism classroom and one for a self-contained autism classroom at Middle School. 



What You’ll Do

• Provide academic instruction, behavioral support, and structured classroom management for students with autism
• Work with a classroom of 7 students (increasing to 8 next school year) for Elementary School and a caseload of 8–9 students this year (expected to drop to 4 next year, with potential for move-ins) for Middle School
• Collaborate with school staff and specialists to implement IEPs
• Participate in PLCs during the school day
• Attend monthly after-school meetings (up to 1 hour, once per month)
• Follow school-based expectations, participate in team activities, and contribute to a positive classroom environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) endorsement preferred
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training or willingness to obtain
• Experience supporting students with autism in elementary settings
