As a leader in Kubernetes management, the Alibaba Cloud Container Service team is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge, scalable, and secure container orchestration solutions that empower businesses to modernize their cloud-native applications and accelerate innovation
- Design and implement robust reliability architectures for Alibaba Cloud’s container service suite (ACK, ACS, ACR, ASM).
- Develop automation frameworks and tools to streamline operational workflows, reduce manual intervention, and enhance system stability and efficiency.
- Lead day-to-day operations, monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis for containerized platforms, maintaining SLA/SLO compliance and driving continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with development, security, and network teams to optimize performance, scalability, and security posture of container infrastructure.
- Proactively identify potential risks through chaos engineering, stress testing, and observability practices; define and execute remediation plans.
- Stay current with emerging cloud-native technologies, open-source community trends (e.g., Kubernetes, Istio, CNCF projects), and apply best practices to production environments.
Job Requirements - 5+ years of experience in container-related development (e.g., Kubernetes, Serverless platforms, container networking, and storage).
- Proficient in Kubernetes, Docker/Containerd/RunC, and related container technologies, and open-source contributions are a plus.
- Familiar with microservice framework CI/CD, GitOps tooling and process
- Experience managing Kubernetes in production environments is highly valued.
- Strong skills in Golang and Java; experience in other languages like Python, Rust, C, or Shell is a plus.
- Strong ownership and results-driven approach, with excellent communication and collaboration skills. Passionate about technology, research, and continuous learning.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $133,200/year and $219,600/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Alibaba U.S. based full time regular employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits like FSA, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect.
