Title: Trauma Registrar

100% Remote

12 Weeks contract

Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (5x8)

Education:

Graduate of a Health Information Management baccalaureate program or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a health-related field. Experience may include coding, data abstraction, or emergency room activities relevant to required education/certification.

Experience:

• Understanding of medical terminology required
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Fully remote roles require a minimum of one year of trauma registrar experience

Licensure/Certifications Required:

• Must have previously completed-or must complete within 12 months of hire-the following:
• American Trauma Society's Trauma Registrar Course (or equivalent state trauma program course)
• Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) Injury Scaling Course
• ICD-10 Coding Course (refresher required every 5 years)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of trauma registry principles, medical records practices, and institutional policies
• Understanding of indexing, classification, and staging systems
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to trauma
• Proficiency in database management, abstracting, and coding trauma-related data from medical records and computerized laboratory reports
• Ability to prepare reports accurately
• Strong computer proficiency and effective interpersonal skills
