Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer to support a Department of the Navy (DoN) customer at Patuxent River, MD. The selected candidate will lead technical efforts supporting high-visibility, mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This role involves engineering leadership, system integration, and oversight of design, prototyping, and testing for advanced airborne, shipborne, fixed, and mobile system platforms, including sensor systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and testing of manned and unmanned aircraft systems.
  • Evaluate, integrate, and optimize sensors, materials, and equipment across diverse aeronautical platforms.
  • Ensure system interoperability, reliability, and mission performance in accordance with DoD standards.
  • Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams in engineering and testing environments.
  • Develop and execute test plans, system performance analyses, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for design reviews, prototyping efforts, and system architecture optimization.
  • Conduct training on system operations, test procedures, and technical process improvements.
  • Drive innovation through implementation of advanced engineering methodologies and technologies.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Clearance (must be current).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant aerospace engineering experience, with at least 5 years focused on sensor technologies and systems integration within the DoD.
  • Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience leading complex DoD engineering or aerospace programs.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with naval aviation systems or airborne sensor platforms.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and engineering documentation standards.
  • Demonstrated success driving innovation and technical optimization in aerospace system development.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $150,000 to $200,000 (annually).
