We are hiring a Coffee Roaster for our growing team within our Masterpiece Cafe within our Enterprise division!  As a Coffee Roaster, you will be overseeing the entire coffee roasting process from sourcing beans to delivery. Responsibilities include selecting high-quality green coffee beans, adjusting roasting techniques for consistency, and packaging beans securely for distribution. The role also involves managing internal and external shipping logistics to ensure timely delivery to customers. Candidates should possess prior experience in coffee roasting or a related field, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities:

Ordering Green Coffee Beans:

• Researching and selecting high-quality green coffee beans from various suppliers.
• Managing inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of green beans.
• Negotiating contracts and pricing with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.

Roasting Coffee Beans:

• Operating and maintaining coffee roasting equipment to achieve desired roast profiles.
• Monitoring roast profiles and making adjustments as necessary to ensure consistent quality.
• Conducting quality control checks throughout the roasting process to maintain flavor andaroma.

Packaging of Whole and Ground Roasted Coffee Beans:

• Packaging roasted coffee beans in various formats, including whole bean and ground.
• Labeling packages with accurate information regarding roast date, origin, and flavor notes.
• Ensuring packaging materials meet safety and quality standards.

Shipping and Delivering Coffee Beans:

• Coordinating internal shipping of roasted coffee beans to our coffee shops and centers.
• Arranging external shipments to customers, ensuring timely delivery and accurate order fulfillment.
• Managing logistics and documentation for both domestic and international shipments.

Work Environment:

• Maintain a respectful relationship with employees, interns and persons served/clients.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times displaying a professional disposition towards fellow staff.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc. staff and persons served/clients alike.

Key Experience and Education Needed:

• High school graduate or equivalent.  
• Previous experience in food preparation preferred

Other Qualifications to be Considered:

• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Recent experience in roasting coffee
• Ability to work in a team
• Very good communication skills
• Excellent physical condition and stamina
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time 
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. 
• Working around hot surfaces
