Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of a Custodian Supervisor I, of the Facilities Management Services, the Custodian is responsible for general nighttime cleaning of offices, labs, warehouses, and common areas by applying sustainable work practices to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. Working Days and Working Hours: Monday through Friday 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Special Requirements: The position requires a Medical Clearance. If you are selected, you will be required to submit to a Medical Evaluation and receive clearance prior to being hired.

This position qualifies for Pay Differential 85, Night Shift Pay. This provides an additional $0.50 per hour and $0.75 per hour for premium overtime hours worked above the base salary.

Special Requirements

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Knowledge of modern professional cleaning methods
• Knowledge of materials, products, disinfectants, and equipment used in professional cleaning
• Knowledge of methods and equipment used for carpet care
• Knowledge of methods and equipment used for floor care, such as buffing, stripping, and waxing
• Ability to safely use and care for equipment and supplies
• Ability to follow directions, learn and perform routine custodial tasks
