Duties Description *Note: This position is a newly classified position and is pending placement into the non-competitive jurisdictional class. Until such approval, all appointments will be made temporary, pending jurisdictional class (JC). Once placed in the non-competitive class, the appointment type will be converted to permanent. The Division of Quality Improvement (DQI) is responsible for developing and implementing much of OPWDD's core mission. One of the main objectives of DQI is to integrate and promote quality improvement practices throughout our system and to enhance the quality of services and outcomes for the individuals we serve. The incumbent of this position will serve as an integral part of the DQI Analysis and Evaluation Unit (DAEU) and will be involved in the oversight of data-driven research, analytics and metrics development used to support policy implementation and revision and quality assurance review activities for targeting areas of concern to individuals' health and safety. To accomplish these objectives, the Data Analyst I position will be integral in this data driven research. This particular position will be assigned to pull all data related to oversight of Care Coordination Organizations (CCO) and other duties as assigned.This position will assist in managing the Evaluation and Analysis Unit comprised of 12 staff and will be essential in many data analysis functions and initiatives important to DQI. The incumbent of this position will be expected to: ·Serve as the CCO data lead. ·Carry out research and data analytics projects and operations, using a variety of data analysis methodologies, to support data driven decisions. Provide input on current approaches and recommend improvements. ·Perform data extraction using a variety of data analysis tools. ·Review acquired data with respect to quality, trend identification and root cause analysis, including trending data for the new Strategic Priorities Team with the charge of identifying health and safety trends. ·Present data results, in paper and presentation format, through visualizations, summaries, and reports. ·Be involved in the creation, design, and the implementation of a CCO survey redesign. Minimum Qualifications Data Analyst Trainee 1, NS (equivalent to SG-14): four years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.Data Analyst Trainee 2, NS (equivalent to SG-16): five years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.Data Analyst 1, SG-18: four years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools and satisfactory completion of a two-year traineeship; OR six years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.*Substitution: An associate's degree may substitute for two years of general experience; or a bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of general experience. A master's degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, may substitute for one year of general experience; or a Ph.D. in these fields may substitute for two years of general experience.

Additional Comments - Appointments may also be made at the Data Analyst Trainee levels. Candidates hired at the entry-level title (Data Analyst Trainee 1) may be advanced to the full-performance level (Data Analyst 1) following satisfactory completion of two-years of service.Salary range listed below encompasses the hiring rate of a Data Analyst Trainee 1 through the job rate of a Data Analyst 1.- Data Analyst Trainee 1: $53,764- Data Analyst Trainee 2: $59,994- Data Analyst 1: $66,951 - $85,138- The assignment of PS&T employees will be made in accordance with any agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding between PEF and the local DDSO regarding the posting of job vacancies.- Preference will be given to OPWDD employees impacted by closures.
