Summary

Westminster School for Young Children is currently accepting applicants for one full-time and one part-time teaching position in our two-year-old classroom for the 2025-2026 academic year. WSYC serves children ages 1-5 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 2:30pm. (The part-time position is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

WSYC is NAEYC accredited program. We are committed to play-based learning in a creative, nurturing and Christian environment. The ideal candidate has teaching experience and/or academic training in early childhood education. We believe that a strong relationship with our families is central to serving children and therefore strong written and verbal skills are required. WSYC classrooms are co-taught with teachers sharing planning and communication responsibilities equitably. Demonstrated ability to work on a team is critical. Duties

The Teacher is responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns.

Requirements

• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening..
