Job Description

Student Success Advisor

Location: Pinnacle Charter Schools – Tempe, Arizona (On-site)

About Us:

MGRM Pinnacle operates Pinnacle Charter Schools, a Cognia-accredited network of alternative schools across Arizona. Established in 1995, we’ve helped thousands of students succeed through flexible, personalized learning pathways. Our schools are designed for students who need a different approach to learning — including those who are at-risk, over-age, or under-credited — and our local sites provide structure, connection, and individualized support to help them graduate and thrive.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Student Success Advisor to join our Tempe site team. This role is key to helping students stay on track, remain engaged, and reach graduation. As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide personalized support, guide students through academic and behavioral challenges, and serve as a consistent point of contact for both students and families.

You’ll monitor student progress, develop individualized intervention plans, and help address barriers to learning — whether academic, emotional, or social. This is a mission-aligned role that requires care, consistency, and creativity.

What You’ll Do:

Academic & Graduation Support:

  • Review academic records, transcripts, and behavior data for students on your caseload.
  • Assign appropriate courses and build graduation plans that align with student goals.
  • Input and update transcript data and course records accurately within the student information system.
  • Monitor course progress and proactively follow up with students falling behind.
  • Provide encouragement, problem-solving strategies, and goal-setting tools to help students achieve academic success.

Student Outreach & Engagement:

  • Maintain consistent, proactive communication with students and families via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Monitor attendance and intervene early to address patterns of disengagement.
  • Document all outreach efforts, interventions, and progress toward engagement goals.
  • Coordinate with school staff and advisors to re-engage students who have withdrawn or been inactive.
  • Provide information and support to students exploring re-enrollment.

Social-Emotional & Community Support:

  • Assess and help identify students’ non-academic needs (social, emotional, physical, or economic)
  • Refer students to internal or external support services when needed.
  • Foster a safe and welcoming environment for students to seek help.
  • Partner with families to encourage constructive parental involvement in student success.

Team Collaboration & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with teachers, site staff, and student services to align support plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student interactions and outcomes.
  • Regularly participate in team meetings and share caseload updates.
  • Support the development of school-wide initiatives around dropout prevention and student success.

Who You Are:

  • A compassionate, persistent, and highly organized professional.
  • Passionate about working with students who need extra support or second chances.
  • Skilled at building trust with young people and their families.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, especially when faced with obstacles.
  • Comfortable using technology to communicate and manage student progress.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience working with youth or in a student support role preferred.
  • Familiarity with academic planning, progress monitoring, and student engagement strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and web-based tools.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary for this position is competitive and based on prior experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and life insurance coverage, as well as an employer retirement contribution.

Equal Opportunity Employer:

MGRM Pinnacle Inc. is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin. Candidates from all backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
