VMware Administrator (Remote - Fulltime)

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: Long Term

Experience : 3-5

We are seeking a highly experienced VMware Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. You will play a key role in managing, optimizing, and maintaining our VMware infrastructure for efficient and reliable business operations.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere components (vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, vSAN, etc.) to create a robust virtualized environment.
Manage virtual machines (VMs) including provisioning, cloning, migration, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
Monitor and optimize VM performance, ensuring resource utilization efficiency and resource allocation.
Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard the virtualized environment from cyber threats.
Perform routine maintenance tasks including patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting of VMware infrastructure issues.
Automate routine tasks using scripting tools (PowerCLI) for increased efficiency (Preferred).
Provide technical support to internal users regarding their virtualized resources.
Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in VMware technologies and best practices.
Collaborate effectively with other IT professionals to ensure seamless operation of the virtualized infrastructure.

Qualifications:

3-5+ years of demonstrably successful experience as a VMware Administrator or a related role.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent experience (Preferred).
In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere architecture, components, and functionalities.
Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and best practices.
Experience with VM provisioning, migration, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Experience with storage area networks (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS) technologies (Preferred).
Proficiency in troubleshooting VMware infrastructure issues and resolving VM performance problems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the ever-evolving VMware landscape.
